Green Yourself for Life!

Natural Element is making changes to actively support sustainable companies for products such as stationary, CD cases, wedding albums, and other products that reduce the carbon footprint left behind by one human being, one step at a time.

I felt that it may be a fun idea to take my viewers on a journey to greening my business to show that it is possible to make a difference no matter how small the step.

I was deeply saddened today by the Supreme Court ruling reducing Exxon's fine by $2 billion for the Valdez oil spill, the worst environment disaster in U.S. history. Read more at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/25/court-spares-exxon-2-bill_n_109140.html.

But from every negative I look for a positive and this has spurred me to become even more environmentally responsible as a business owner and human being on the planet.

In my personal life I have made changes to reduce, recycle and reuse, long before it became "eco-chic" to do so. I plant a vegetable garden in my flower beds, use organic compost, turn the water off when brushing my teeth, do not drive a car to work, and buy my clothes at thrift stores. But looking more closely at some of my business practices, I realized I could challenge myself in sustainability that pertained to my professional life as well as personal.

I will begin the process of re branding my business to promote a work environment that is simple, healthful and close to nature. I hope to live and work eco-friendly to be an example to others.

As we have seen today, the Supreme Court of the United States of America is not willing to uphold environmental accountability by holding corporate companies responsible for harming our environment on disastrous levels.

Please share your ideas or comments if you have made eco-friendly changes in your life.
