Ryan's Heart of Gold

This little guy truly has a heart of gold. Born with several heart defects, Ryan has endured months at Children's Hospital in Columbus, and two open heart surgeries all in the first year of his life. With the careful love and intuitive thinking of his caretakers, Ryan is a very happy, curious, and sometimes mischievous (according to mom) healthy 1.5 year old.

I have donated my photographic services documenting Ryan and his family right before surgery and after his recovery. It helps me process the miracles life has to offer and I hope families can reflect on their own endurance to get through hard times and come out on top.
