One of our midwives is a very good friend and President of a state organization of certified professional midwives (CPM) called Ohio Families for Safe Birth (OFSB): http://www.safebirthohio.org/. In celebration of International Midwives Day on Tuesday, OFSB and supporters of certified professional midwives rallied and lobbied at the capital building to see that midwives receive licensure in the state of Ohio.
Dave and I have bartered our services in exchange for the prenatal, natal, and postnatal care of our first born child. Dave continues working on publicity to educate the media on the topic of CPM and the legislative awareness for licsensure in Ohio. His hard work paid off in an article by the largest distributed paper in Ohio, The Plain Dealer; check out the article below:

My contribution to this heartfelt cause are in the images of smiling, healthy families enjoying the beautiful day at the state house.
